MS SQL SERVER 2016 INSTALLATION
These
are the screens will appear while installing SQL Server 2016.
Product Key
Enter your product key, or specify a free edition and
click Next.
License Terms
Accept the license terms by checking I accept the license
terms and click Next.
Microsoft Update
Choose whether or not you want to use Microsoft Update to check
for updates and click Next.
Install Rules
The wizard shows any potential issues that need to be corrected.
For more information click on any warnings or issues. Most of the times Windows
Firewall will give warning.
If all looks good, click Next.
Feature Selection
Choose the components those need to be installed.
Click on a component to displays more information about that component and how much disk space is required in the top right pane.
Once feature selection is completed, click Next.

Instance
Configuration
Select either the default instance or a named instance as
required, then click Next.
Server
Configuration
Specify the service accounts and the collation configuration,
then click Next.
Database Engine
Configuration
This is one of the important window where we need to configure
the authentication mode, administrators, data directories, and tempdb settings.
SQL 2016 has special settings for tempdb, we can select no of
data files.
Once done, click Next.
Analysis Services
Configuration
Specify any Analysis Services settings you might require, then
click Next.
Reporting
Services Configuration
Specify any Reporting Services settings you might require, then
click Next.
Ready to Install
This window will display all services those are going to install
and their settings.
Review all and click Next.
Complete
Once SQL Server has been installed, We can able to see features
and their installation status. Also we can refer summary log
file.
Click Close.
Click Close.
